Congratulations to Jeffrey T. Zalar (University of Cincinnati) who was awarded this year’s George A. and Jean S. DeLong Book History Book Prize by the Society for the History of Authorship, Reading, and Publishing (SHARP).

His book Reading and Rebellion in Catholic Germany, 1770–1914 was published last year in our Cambridge University Press series “Publications of the German Historical Institute”. The book was based on his dissertation, for which he won the 2003 Fritz Stern Dissertation Prize of the Friends of the German Historical Institute. Additionally, Jeffrey is also one of the co-editors of the Knowledge and Education module of the GHI's new and forthcoming digital project, German History Intersections
