Digital Source Collections
The GHI Washington has published several digital primary source collections on German history and its transnational aspects. German History in Documents and Images (GHDI) and German History Intersections are bilingual (German/English) resources developed primarily for teaching, study, and research. Covering the period from the early modern age to the present, these collections offer a carefully curated selection of texts, images, maps, and audiovisual sources. Our Migrant Connections platform is designed as a resource for historical research on German migration and its impact on both the United States and Germany in the 19th and 20th centuries. Using a broad array of materials from letters and diaries to poems and news articles, this collection aims to foster research on mobility, spaces of knowledge production, and transatlantic communication systems.
