Award of the Fritz Stern Prize at the GHI | Prize Winners: Chad C. Bryant (University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill) and Jeffrey T. Zalar (Pepperdine University)

The 2003 Fritz Stern Dissertation Prizes were awarded to Chad C. Bryant (University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill) and Jeffrey T. Zalar (Pepperdine University). The award ceremony took place at the 12th Annual Symposium of the Friends of the German Historical Institute on November 19, 2003. The Stern Prize Selection Committee was composed of Celia Applegate (University of Rochester), Jonathan S. Wiesen (Southern Illinois University at Carbondale) and Jerry Z. Muller (Catholic University).

Chad C. Bryant (University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill), Acting Czech, Marking Germans: Nationality Politics in Bohemia and Moravia, 1939–1947 (Ph.D. dissertation, University of California at Berkeley, 2002). Jeffrey T.
