The German Historical Institute is closed to the public due to the ongoing situation with COVID-19

The GHI and its library are closed for visitors until further notice. All events at the GHI until the end of June are cancelled. If you wish to contact one of our colleagues, please do so via email, which can be found on this website.
The GHI is closely monitoring the spread of COVID-19 cases along with institutional responses to the virus. As the health of all is our top priority, we have decided to discontinue our public events and programs until further notice. We will try to conduct cancelled events at a later date.
The institute's library will also be closed to the public until further notice and institute staff will be working remotely. If you wish to contact one of our colleagues, please do so via email, which can be found on our website.
By taking these steps, we follow the recommendations put in place by the German and US governments. At this point in time, it cannot be ruled out that additional measures will have to be taken.
We will keep you up to date on all further organizational issues at this point.
