Racism in Europe: A Critical Assessment

Jun 09, 2020  | 12pm PT

Virtual Panel Discussion | Speakers: Jean Claude Beaujour, Vice-Chair of France Amérique; Charles M. Huber, Former MP in the German Bundestag

The killings of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and others have galvanized protesters against racial discrimination and violence not only in dozens of cities across the U.S. but also in Europe. Protest movements in several European countries took to the streets to show solidarity with African Americans and to highlight local concerns with racism. Please join us in conversation with Jean Claude Beaujour (Vice-Chair of France Amérique) and Charles M. Huber (Former MP in the German Bundestag) for a critical assessment of racism in Europe. Co-sponsored by the Institute of European Studies at UC Berkeley.
