The Chair of the American Studies Department at the University of Münster, Prof. Diedrich is also a non-resident fellow at the W.E.B. Du Bois Institute at Harvard University and the co-founder of the Collegium for African American Research. She has published widely on the history of the African Diaspora and on the interactions between African America and Germany, including her seminal work, Love Across Color Lines: Ottilie Assing and Frederick Douglass.

A dessert reception will start at 4:30 pm and the lecture will begin at 5:00 pm.
