Martin H. Geyer is Professor of Modern History at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München. Much of his work has focused on the history of twentieth-century Germany and the United States as well as the history of social policy and the welfare state. He is currently writing a history of political scandals during the interwar period.

The Feldman Memorial Lecture was established by the Friends of the German Historical Institute to honor the memory of historian Gerald D. Feldman (1937-2007) and has been made possible by the Fritz Thyssen Stiftung and generous individual donations to the Friends of the German Historical Institute.
