Phone +1.202.387.3355 ![]() Biographical Summary In her research and teaching, Ines Prodöhl centers on historical questions that combine cultural and economic approaches. She is, in particular, interested in global and transnational history. Her current research project analyzes the history of soy in the first half of the twentieth century, focusing on both the economic significance of and cultural attitudes towards soy in Northeast China, Europe, and the United States.
Dr. Prodöhl is the author of Die Politik des Wissens. Allgemeine deutsche Enzyklopädien zwischen 1928 und 1956 (Berlin: Akademie Verlag, 2011). In 2008, she received her Ph.D. in History from the University of Heidelberg, where she was a lecturer and research fellow. She studied history at the universities of Leipzig and Zurich.
