- This database is a collection of dissertations and theses from around the world, spanning from 1743 to the present day. Access is provided to the following disciplines: Business, Health and Medicine, History, Literature and Language, Science and Technology, Social Sciences, and the Arts.
Attention: Our subscription allows only access to the abstract and the first 24 pages of the dissertation.
World Biographical Information System / WBIS
- The World Biographical Information System (WBIS Online) contains several million biographical articles from numerous reference works, published from the 16th to the middle of the 20th century. The preserved biographical archives, searchable in full text, incorporate different linguistic- and cultural regions.
Ancestry and Genealogy (Please ask librarian for access)
- This database includes information of official church registers, birth registers, and also newspaper archives.
CSA Sozialwissenschaftliche Datenbanken 1915-2012
- SOWIPort, a social sciences database, currently contains around 7 million descriptions of publications and research projects, bundled from several different sources.
The following databases are covered: CSA Sociological Abstracts, CSA Social Services Abstracts, PAIS International, CSA Worldwide Political Science Abstracts, ASSIA: Applied Social Sciences Index and Abstracts, Physical Education Index.
Historical Abstracts
- Historical Abstracts is a resource that covers the history of the world (excluding the United States and Canada) focusing on the 15th century forward, including World History, Military History, Women's History, History of Education, etc. It provides indexing of ca. 3,100 academic historical journals in several languages, dating back to 1955.
Universal Database of Social Sciences & Humanities (UDB-EDU)
- This database intends to provide researchers with the contents of major Russian periodicals on social sciences and humanities. It is comprised of all 31 journals of the Russian Academy of Sciences ranging from Archeology to Linguistics, as well as popular literary editions, and independent scholarly publications.
