World Rivers in History

Taking examples from four regions of the world – major rivers in Africa, Asia, Europe, and North America - the panelists will explore differing approaches to the history of rivers. The session is sponsored by the German Historical Institute (GHI) in Washington D.C. International Environmental History and comparative history are two of the GHI’s areas of focus.
